In my state/region. Western PA, eastern OH, WV panhandle. Ideally, I grow it myself. If not, I want to be buying directly from the farmer, whether at a farmers market near me or at their actual farm. I want to hear straight from them, all about the early warm and freeze, the bees disappearing, the humidity, rain, your dogs, mother-in-law, and huge blueberries. <3 It's all wonderful.

It's the freshest best tasting produce.

I miss our local farmers market!

I live in what use to be farmer country but not anymore. There are fewer local farm grown items. I'd like to see a reversal in the trend. We have great growing soil.

I live in Delaware. As long as its grown on the Eastern Shore, its local to me. That could be DE, MD or VA.

I have respect for all the hardworking farmers, today is 96 degrees and someone is willing to work to produce my food. Thank you, American farmers!

I always by at our local farmers market and I only buy from people I know are from our area. I will not buy from people who have produce that is not in season, so you know they are from out-of-state.

I live in baltimore county and most of local food comes just over mason dixon line in Pa. and from the eastern shore of Md which is further but less than 100 miles

Since I live in the center of my state, most goods are delivered within a 3 hour drive.

Grown in our state or a state bordering ours is good enough to be considered "local".
Candy - 06/20/2012
probably more grown within our area, rather than state.

I also know it was grown/raised within 100 miles of my home, in my state.

I am not always able to buy at a "farmers market". I am disabled and have not driven in over six years. I have an electric scooter that I use.
