Genetically Engineered or Modified Foods - To Eat or Not To Eat
Question: Are there any safety issues in eating food from genetically engineered crops?
Answer per Dr. Ruth MacDonald (Iowa State University's professor and chair of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition): No. The Center for Science in the Public Interest has stated that there are no human safety issues associated with consuming genetically engineered or modified (GMO) foods. There has never been a health-related issue associated with consumption of GMO foods and these foods have been thoroughly researched for safety.
