Fruitcake Pronunciation

Noun: A cake containing dried fruit and nuts, and sometimes soaked in spirits such as Scotch or rum.

The much-maligned fruitcake is actually enjoyed around the world. While some countries usually only eat fruitcake during the Christmas season, other countries enjoy the dessert year ’round. In the UK, it is common to serve fruitcake as part of the dessert course.

My grandmother likes fruitcake, but only when it’s soaked in rum.
