Best Food Facts is a website dedicated to all things food! We are consumers with a passion for food and agriculture and our mission is to bring you everything you ever wanted to know about the endless food choices and questions we all are faced with.

How do we do this you, ask? Great question! We have enlisted the help of more than 200 food system experts, ranging from university-based folks to the Registered Dietitian community to the farmers themselves where the food cycle begins, who understand the science behind what’s in your food and why. Our goal is to load your plate with a balanced diet of information on food topics so that you can make informed choices for yourself and your family – at home, at the grocery store, at your favorite restaurant – and feel confident in your decisions based on an understanding of all sides of the smorgasbord of food issues. It’s a tall order, we know, but we’re constantly in the kitchen whipping up food facts and are ready to fill your plate!

What’s Old is New Again

While the Best Food Facts website may be new, our mission hasn’t changed. We strive to separate fact from fiction about food to allow consumers to weigh decisions based on their individual needs. What has changed, though, is the landscape – in this day and age, we expect a better online experience and we crave opportunities to share what we’ve learned. Our new site will provide more fresh, exciting content when, where and how you want it so it’s easier to do just that.

What We Believe

Real people, not robots, manage the Best Food Facts website. We’re consumers, we have families, and we eat… a lot! We absolutely love food– just like you – and we have a lot of the same questions and concerns about our food and where it comes from. That’s why we strive to provide accurate, objective and trustworthy information for you – after all, food is important to every single one of us, so it’s kind of a big deal!

It is our hope that you’ll find the content on our site to be RITE: Relevant, Informative, Timely and Educational. We keep track of online conversations to know what food issues people are talking about, we monitor news coverage of topics related to food and health, and we welcome questions from our readers. Please, please, please… we encourage you to ask us questions and allow us the opportunity to make it RITE. Let’s face it – there is so much information out there, it can be challenging to discern what is truthful and what is misleading.

Our promise to you is that all of our content and insights will be approved by one of our 200 food system experts and, while our experts have full control over the content they provide, it’s up to us to present that content in a way that’s meaningful to all of us. So dig in – the info’s on us!
