Meet the Expert: Londa Nwadike, PhD

Londa Nwadike, PhD, is an Assistant Professor and Extension Food Safety Specialist at Kansas State University and the University of Missouri. To get to know Londa, we asked her a few questions.

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself. 

I formerly worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Through that, and through related activities, I have had the opportunity to live in and travel to many countries around the world, particularly in Africa.

What three words or phrases best describe you? 

Hard-working, compassionate, team player

What do you like to do in your free time? 

I enjoy spending time with my husband and two young kids and I also like to bake (usually sweets!).

What’s the last good book you read?

The Bernstein Bears — they have great life lessons for kids (and parents)!

What are you currently working on? 

I try to keep producing understandable fact sheets on various food safety topics for consumers, as well as for farmers market vendors and produce growers.

If you could have one superpower what would it be? 

The ability to protect my kids (and other kids around the world) from any harm.

What are you most passionate about?

I am passionate about helping people around the world develop to their full potential.
